Small Business Research

Web sites that work begin with research. Why?

If you site doesn't instantly help your customers, they will go looking somewhere else.

Your site needs to grab them, draw them in, answer their questions, solve their problems, and provide great solutions.

Too many small business web sites just list the benefits of their service. Customers are left wondering: "What's in it for me?"

Your Customers and You

We need to understand your customers.

What they need. What problems they have. What questions they ask.

We also want to know about you. Your personality. Why you love your business.

This is why the first phase of our small business web site development is RESEARCH.

Here's what we do.

Research Steps

We talk to your existing customers. We want to understand how they feel about your business. Past customer experience helps us draw in new customers.

We interview you. Anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of hours. It depends on the size of your business.

We read. If you have any documents that describe your business, we'll read them. We want to understand what your business is all about, no matter what you sell or what service you provide.

We check your competiton. We see what they do right and what they do wrong. Then we design your web site to be that much better.

Research Goals

Our research is a critical first step. We want to achieve 3 things when your small business web site is designed:

  • You maintain contact with your existing customers
  • New customers find out what your business is all about
  • Your site is a reflection of your personality and approach to business

Once we've done our homework about you, your customers and your competition then we'll start the DESIGN.
